Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Wembley Stadium 1974

Check out Neil Young's unreleased gem 'Pushed it Over the End'.

The lyrics, which flew in the face of the the then growing Women's Lib movement, are typical acerbic Neil. For some reason, the track has never appeared on any of his albums and I wonder just how many of these songs Neil has in his archives? As for the performance, Neil is on form as usual and the rest of the band, especially Stills, just may have ingested a little cocaine before show. And why the hell not? On this tour, legendary promoter Bill Graham decked out the whole backstage area in white. White walls, tables, curtains, absolutely everything. Everything that is except the tables that were made of glass and strewn with razor blades. His cut noses off rubber masks and attached them to the walls and played a loop tape of people sniffing.
Ah the 70's...

While I am not a big Neil Young fan - I can certainly appreciate his music except Southern Man - If I have to hear that whiney piece of shit song one more time, I may have to seek out Neil and shove his vast array of effect petals up his ASS! Anyway...he almost soley is the inspiration of the whole "Grudge" movement. How many people can say that? The only time I really liked some of the stuff he did was during the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young years. Stills and Young seem to have that kinda love/hate/lets-just-make-some-music thing between them that when right can be magical or disasterous - however you what to see it. Maybe the backstage "supplements" kept them together as long as they did. Never knew that backstage stuff although it is not surprising.

Thanks for the post
